Nie metallic nie en ek verstaan waarom jy se Goshiki want die rooi is net soos die Goshiki s'n (wat baie na aan metallic is), maar dit is nie Goshiki nie.

Ook nie die meer "obvious" Doitsu Hi Utsuri nie.

Traditionally, the showa had a lot of sumi (black the dominant colour)

Then came the Kindai showa, also referred to as the modern style showa (white the dominant colour)

Now, a lot of Japanese breeders try to breed hi showas (red the dominant colour with a deep almost metallic goshiki like red), and Kase was very successful in creating that.

These are Doitsu Hi Showas. Very little white and on some you can hardly see any white, except in the tail and fins which creates a nice contrast.

In any pond the red stands out, and it makes sense to me that they are trying to increase the amount and intensity of the red on showas.

The guy I buy my Shiro Utsuri's from had a couple of these swimming around. I also thought Hi Utsuri but it had the white fins as the ones in your pic and had a bit of white coming through on the stomach area. He informed me that it's a Showa and not a Hi-Utsuri as I thought initially. They were STUNNING. He was an international koi judge so I assume he knows what he's talking about....

This is one that I imported from Hiroi. Initially I though it is a Doitsu Hi Utsuri, but you can see the white on the side, which indicates that it is rather a Doitsi Hi Showa.
