I would say it is a Kikusui, (metallic doitsu with a white background and with a hi pattern that is lateral). It is almost like a doitsu metallic Kohaku but in the case of a Kohaku, the hi pattern is more dorsal. This is a borderline.
If black comes through on this koi, it will be a Hisei Nishiki.

You are right, the black actually came through more prominantly since posting which makes it a Heisei Nishiki.
