Herewith my plan of attack:

The WCKC Sakai Kohaku (a name still to be allocated and christened upon arrival) will spend some time in my 3000 litre QT pond before joining four Koi in the 7500 litre pond.

The filtration system for this pond is primarily an air driven gravity system as follows;

1. Pond with air curtain
2. Two bottom drains and surface skimmer to Settlement chamber
3. Mechanical filter chamber with 100 litre static media (Kaldnes K1 generic)
4. Biological filter chamber with 100 litre aerated active media (again K1 generic)
5. Two pipes with air stones for airlift feed to empty chamber and then back to pond though under water returns
6. Submersible pump in biological chamber pump through UV to vegetation chamber and then return to pond via waterfall.
7. The filtration is driven by one 120 l/min air pump 125 watt (?), 3000 l/h 70 watt submersible pump and 55 watt UV on a timer. Fairly energy efficient will you agree?

This will also be home to Jaco/Marius Koi when they are ready.

These privileged fish will feast on Saki Hikari Growth and whatever other secret muti discovered.

The location of all of this is in Weltevreden Park, an outlying suburb west of Johannesburg.

My "turn over" rate is een keer elke 1h16min.

Ek kan ongelukkig nie my kois se voer vir tosai noem nie anders is my hele voordeel weg.

My setup is Vortex, Eazy, SF, 3 x Ultra zap, K1, K1, Pressure.

Turnover is roughly once every 45 minutes

Mainpond:30000L plus 1000L flower pond. 2 x drains, skimmer, settlement chamber with Matala per-filter. 3 x 55W UV's. Matala for Mechanical and Bio in 4000L chambers. 2 Waterfall returns via 1 x 750W pump. Extra 750W pump return via 7 jets. 40kL water flow in total, so less than one hour turm over

QT: 7500L. 2 drains(50mm) Matala mechanical and Bio. 12000L pump via waterfall and 20W UV with mid water return. Turnover of bit more that 30min

OK, i am waiting for feedback from our Grow and Show judges re rules. This was only mailed to them today and as soon as we have the green light I will post them and we will be ready to take this competition to the next level.

Wyne indicated that he would try to spend time on Saturday to take the pictures as per the request from our local G&S Judges. Please do not forget the individual measurements, as this will be very important to determine percentage growth later on.

I believe Wayne completed this task today and I cannot wait to see the results.
