| I'm slowly progressing, but without a mud dam, etc, I hope to see some of the fish bigger! I moved most to the Portapool and it's hard to see them. Hope they are still alive, problably at the bottom, I hope. In the big container, I had some deaths, but it was my fault, should have done more water changes. These are some of them, but growing slowly: With the food, one should be careful, as I think I over fed them and some were rotten on the base. Especially the egg. I have now mixed crushed gold fish food, with 1mm koi food, that I crushed. I also added the 2nd container. I struggled to get dried bloodworms, bought these, but when unfrozen, the worms were still visible- obviously too big and not the right sort that Lee was talking about. What about shredding it with our mixed- my wife needn't know Any thoughts?? |

| Albie, hulle lyk pragtig en ek dink dit is enige iemand se droom om klein Koi groot te maak. Dit is iets anders as die normale en het nuwe uitdagings as jy nie met Koi teel nie. Dink jy doen goed so ver.
Mens kon jare gelede by Pet Masters gevriesde vis kos kry.

| Well, everything is not going according to plan. Most of the fry in the Portapool died, and I was able to I rescue a few. Some are back in the container on our stoep with a filter and an air pump. The remainder we put in net set-up that my wife made in a hurry on Saturday night. Unfortunately, one of the bigger fish- an ugly black and white, wants to spawn, and was constantly under and aside to the net. So I moved the net to "chamber 1" tonight. A few photos: I have put the net in Chamber 1: I was actually thinking, it I cover the bio media in chamber 2, I might not need a net. Any thoughts? |

| Wel, ek het nie meer duisende en duisende nie! I put the eleven surviving ones back in the big container and at least they have survived the last few days. Then I discovered thousands of what I think are blood worms in the portapool- I just scooped out some and gave it to the fry. If they are, cat I dry some of it and if so, how? Perhaps on a sieve? |

| Jaco, kan ek so 'n skep per dag ingooi, of moet ek verbyhou.
Ek ruil elke dag so 'n emmer water met my dam se water, probeer om die bodem redelik skoon te hou en voer met 'n mengsel van viskos flakes, pille en 'n poeier wat ek sommer by 'n petshop gekoop het. Alles is baie fyn.
Hoop ek kan hierdie paar laat oorleef |

| Hi -
I have a major concern about this pond design - the drain is directly under the water fall.
Do you perhaps have othe photos and angles?
Where is major part of the water coming into the pond? Over the water fall or somewhere else?
Regards, Chris |

| Very neat looking pond Rikus, honestly dont think you should waste your time with culling fry as they run into the thousands and you can only really have no more than 10 medium sized fish in a sized pond like yours. You can get very nice fish for around R100 a fish and trust me, you spent money on this pond so you will want nice fish in it, not someones unwanted fry. Actually thought you had a massive farm like dam that you wanted to put alot of fish in.... |

| Wow Jaco thats alot of fish,
How did the cull go anything that really stand out ?
Did you get a good percentage of the varieties you were aiming for ?
Those Shusui and kohakus look great.
Cheers Lee |

| Hi Lee, Difficult to say, only on the second cull can you really know what you have. Only culled the small and cripple ones. |
