I can unfortunately not see the picture to know what you are talking about.

If it looks like cotton wool it is more than likely fungus, Did you do a set of treatments with the Malachite Green or just one treatment ?

It is very difficult to diagnose any problem you may have, not seeing the Koi.
Where do you live?

Not sure how to attach the photo. Mailed it to you. I live in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. Treated twice with MG at 1ml / 100litres as per the instructions.
Then did a 45% water change and started last night with the loolilock Anti-fungal. Added 1500 ml on my almost 40000 litre pond. Bypassed all filters and switched UV lights off.

This is Flavobaterium columnare, it will attack the skin of Koi after an attack of whitespot(Ich) or Trichodina.

Treat with salt 6kg/1000lt and the Potassium Permanganate 2,5gram / 1000lt.

Do not ad salt if there is any formalin in the water!!

Thanx Pieter. But what about the Anti-fungal (Methylene Blue) that I started treating with last night?
My salt is currently at approx 1kg /1000litre. Could I immediately puch my pond up to 6kg /1000litres?
Where do I get the Potassium Permanganate?

You may ad the salt today and the Potassium P after 24 hours,
and you can buy PP at any chemist, they sell it in 25g bottles

Thanx Pieter, you've been great help. But please.... can I push salt levels from 1kg to 6 kg in one day in my main pond? Also is there some detailed instruction available on how to treat with PP. I'm a novice with diseases since I never had any serious problems.

I agree 100% with Pieter on the PP treatment.

For those on this forum that dont know how to use PP and how and/or how to stop the treatment here's a link and I have used these dosages accurately time and time again and never had any complications.

Thanx for the advise. I believe it did the trick. Treated with PP on Saturday. Only lost 4 fish thusfar. One or two still flicking, not sure if it is the after effects of PP. Will follow up PP treatment tomorrow. Jut not sure, should the water really stay pink for 6-8 hours? Mine turned brown within an hour.

Normaly in a PP treatment the 1st treatment wont have much effect I speak under correction here but if I'm not mistaken the 1st treatment the PP oxidises all the doc and other organics thus the treatment doesnt last as long ( the water doesnt stay pink for the full duration of the treatment ). You will notice on the 2nd treatment that the water should stay pink allot longer although if the water goes brown or tea immediately on the second treatment it means that the peroxide or dechlorinator is neutralizing the PP thus the treatment has no effect and you need to try again the following day. Normally on the 2nd or 3rd treatment you should be able to keep the water pink for the full 6 to 8 hours.

Ps. The above mentioned is only out of my personal experiances so if there is something anyone does not agree with pls post constructive crit. or a valid poit for debate.
