| Hi,
I bought 4 fish from King Koi last Sunday. Two Tancho's, a Utsuri (black and white) and a Sanke (Red, black, white). All the fish are doing well except the Sanke, which I found dead last week Monday morning floating at the top of the pond. I have no idea why this happened, at about 9pm on Sunday night they were all fine and eating. Could there have been something wrong with this Sanke? From what I could see when I examined it, it looked in perfect condition. It was about 20cm and paid around R700 for it.
I emailed King Koi, and still have not received a reply about the fish after spending about R3.2k there.
This is first time I have bought "decent bloodline koi" and it was not a very nice experience.
Should King Koi replace the fish or should I just write it off?
Thanks, Cameron |

| Hi,
Sorry about you’re lost!
I would say that the Sanke in all probability died of stress! Koi is almost like people in this regard, and some can cope better with stress then other.
What give rise to stress? Change of pH, Temperature, water conditions and transport.
Most dealers would replace the fish out of courtesy, but they are not bind by an obligation to do so. |

| King Koi uses a different e-mail now. From what I understand they had problems with the mail lately. New addy is kingkoi@metroweb.co.za Sherry Wong left the company and the new lady in her place is called Estelle. Very helpful but she explained to me that she must catch up on orders and mails and running her legs off. I bought all my Matala sheets from them and had no problems in the past so I am sure they will be helpful with your dead Koi. Last week I tried to order items from another company but they never came back to me so I stick to places that I can trust |

| Any luck with King Koi camO???? Seems my luck changed as well. Ordered and paid R4600 plus for a few items a week ago but nothing received yet. They told me they had sent it on Monday. No mail response on the new mail addy and since yesterday they don't answer the phone. On voicemail saying they are in a meeting with someone. Few hours later the inbox was full and no answer anymore. Getting bit upset now and I have arranged that someone will go and visit the shop on Monday to see if they are still open and what happened to my money and order. Surely they have not sent the items by horse. It is a one day door-to-door delivery. I want to start to buy proper fish now and prepared to spend a few bucks but if this is the way they want to do business I might as well stick to the cheaper fish that I can collect directly in Bloem. Who can you trust?? I am a full blown Koi hobbyist now and spent a few bucks to do it in a proper way but what is the next step?? Had problems with my waterfall in Bloem. Phoned several people to come and repair but no one turned up yet. Do they want to make money or play around? I pay cash so the risk is low but it seems to me they don’t want to do business, or do well enough not to bother to do small jobs anymore.
Please let me know what response you had regarding your e-mail |

| Marius,
Welcome to the new South Africa! It seems to me that everyone complains about business having a bad time with the current financial curve, but if you look at the response to companies if you required a quote or order something from them, you would never say that they could stay in business according their services!
They are useless! |

| Hi Pieter
Well said, and I agree.
Received an e-mail about an hour ago stating they sent the items on the 17th. I phoned the courier and they informed me they had the delivery address wrong and since King Koi’s telephone is on voice mail (and inbox full), they could not contact them to obtain correct info. Just glad I found my order at long last. Still they did not explain why they did not respond to my mail. In the past I had good service so maybe the new staff still needs some time to get things in order. I was really worried at a stage, but can smile again. Just glad it was not Koi that had a week’s holiday in some dark store room |
