| Shiro Muji
Shiro Muji are also products of Kohaku spawnings, but this time the hi is absent. These all white fish are normally culled out, but occasionally one with exceptional skin quality is kept back and raised. Albinos, with red eyes, are sought-after rarities, as are those with Gin-Rin scalation. |

| Red eyes are a rarity with Kohaku's. It is normally associated with Kigoi albino's.
This is definately a Kohaku who lost it's colour or who never got the kohaku hi and should have been culled as fry.
The fish probably comes from a free for all pond spawning and some people will not call it a Shiro Muji as Shiro Muji normally has a good quality non metallic white skin who deserves to fall under a specific category. The all white koi from Kohaku spawnings are normally not pure white and often pinkish and off white.
This fish will fall under the Kawarimono group and in the broad sense it is a Shiro Muji as Wayne said. The red eye makes it interesting.
A Platinum Ogon is a pure white metallic koi. |
