This pond will only be used for Nisai and Sansai, we will only drag this pond every 12 months or if there is a problem. The demotions are: Length 100m Width 50m Depth Average 3m Depth Max 6m Depth Min 1.5m Pond Volume 18.6mil/L Project duration 2 months Projected Cost R 50 000.00 Earth works duration 3 days, cost R 26 700.00, R13 000.00 over budget. The compaction cost was R 2100.00 We will edit the cost on this posting as we continue with the project. 20 Ton Bull Dozer ( This is the same one that we used on G1 2 years ago. | WOW! Colin, you clearly mean business. I think I will have to send you and Lee-Ann a plain ticket for Cape Town and an invite to the good old Cape for a small "holiday" to help me with my mud dams planned for August. You can sit on the bulldozer and I will supply the "liquids". I will give you enough time to learn from your mistakes(if any) to ensure that you are able to give me professional advice afterwards. (Cheaper to learn from other people's mistakes) I might even keep a little space for your own "Cape Town Mud Dam" to keep some of your jewels here for the annual Cape Town shows. Thanks for sharing the photos and please keep us posted. We are following with anticipation. |

| Hi Paul Thank you for the offer we will most gladly accept. We don’t make any mistakes any more only improving on the previous mud ponds. The only mistake we still make is they are always too small. Just remember August is a very busy month in the koi world……….show………..show………..show……….harvest…………breeding etc. Hi Pieter It is because they dont have mud only sand |

| We have started to dig the trench for the water feed to the pond today. I think I should have a mining qualification for this though…….the main water supply is 2m above the side of the pond. |

| Hi Rod This one is for the 2012 team, they must still learn to swim. With all the politics in sport to day you should know that most of them can’t swim. |

| Dankie Jaco Dit is 5000m² water oppervlak so as jy alles afbreuk dan is ek seker jy sal dit maak in pas daar by jou. Maar onthou net daar kom 5000m² se nuwe probleme ook by. Ek glo egter die plesier sal meer wees as die probleme. |

| This is what you can expect with volumes like that: (Koi-bito.com) That must be the ultimate excitement (ok, after.. mmmmm, only a few other things) to get that first glimpse of once fairly small koi when added, while lowering the water level after a while to harvest. |

| Yes Paul
You are spot on we see this from time to time when we harvest our brood stock. As well as the G1 pond at 11.5mil/l.
I will take some photos when we harvest our brood stock and G1 over the next month or two and post them here. |

| Hi Wayne Yes, it was full but we are harvesting it this week. We ad some fry in to it from January up to first of March. So the olds koi in G2 is 3 months and the other is 1 month old. I will post some pic’s soon. Here is a Showa that we grow for a client free of charge from the end of the George show last year till the end of December 2008 please take it to consideration that the Showa first where kept in QT for three months and then added to G1 this koi spend only 6 moths in G1 & G2 over winter and Spring. When we received the Showa it looked like a Kohaku and it was 48cm. This photo was taken after we harvest it from G1. And this photo after we harvest it from G2 at 68cm And the worst is the client never even said thank you or let me know if he received the showa at the airport. |
