| I finally decided to build some additional ponds to keep some small fish - basically to have some more fun with koi and free up some space in my main pond. I have a courtyard area that is about 4.5m x 10m that I am going to turn into my koi playpen. Here is a rough diagram [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Note: There is a 1.5m wall between the pool area and courtyard |

| Quinton, unless your pond is now a pool, I am a bit lost. |

| Bobs. some clarity. The pool on the left is a new swimming pool. Things have changed a little. My pond is in front of it. New pods next to the pool. | Yes Wayne actually a shade sail - sorry bad pic. Ponds are in a small couryard next to the pool - both of which used to be a much bigger courtyard area. |

| Guys the Budda does face east!
Ernst the filter system is actually sophisticated compared to my usual - I will post pics shortly.
I have a 110m bottom drain on each of the four pods, which then feed collectively into a large vortex, from there it goes to a 1000l tank that is filled with media. At themoment I am using plastic curlers, but I will replace this with caldness soonest. I have a 55w uw last in line and from there it pumps through an outlet in each pond plus through two veggie filters balanced on the largest pond. The total volume of ponds is 10000l with about 2000l filter space. I have a .4 kw Speck pump and 2x 120l/min air pumps on the system. Allpipework hidden in building and filters behind wall in a filter section - not quite up to Bobbys standard but a great filtration system that allows quick turnover, loads of current and also allows me to do just about anything between filters and ponds - move water around etc.
I am getting huge current in the length pond - which is helping the growth significantly |

| Hi Quinton
Your filtration and Speck Pump size doing all of this sounds excellent.
Is there any specific reason that you used that and not the new range of low wattage pumps, as it sounds like a job they could do easily.
I realize that the Speck .45 is also running on the smell of an oil rag anyway. Especially looking at their delivery rate.
