| This is my 2nd choice kohaku. The smudge between the first and 2nd step is the only thing bugging me other than that it has a teriffic body. |

| Out of the 4 fish you posted this would be my least favourite.
Things that stand out to me is it has a pointy face/mouth and there hoshi from what is probably fast growth which makes the hi look weak which is probably not the case.
Like the pattern more....the shiroji looks good, would be nice to see it after winter to see how the pattern and hi has perhaps consolidated.
The face/mouth also gives it that football look to it.....still a nice fish by all means, just comparing it with the other 3 here, however still better than most I have seen

| Yes out of the two kohakus that i posted this one is not as good as the other although i like this one more. When i looked at it over the weekend i also thought that it was going to rugby ball on me at around 55cm while the other shows more promise growth wise. This one is now 42cm, it was 17cm in July when i got it. I think it grew a bit too quickly and the pattern got messed up. |

| I think give it at least 2 years the hi will become stronger in winter as you had phenominal growth, the white is nice and clean and body shape to die for and the bodu shape and lustre is more important than pattern

| Hannes you are correct ,give it even longer. Too many fish these days finish very early. |

| Cossie, this kohaku reminds of the kohaku from your mud drag last year that I was so interested in.
Do you have a pic of it then and how it looks now?
The hi on that one looked like it was going in the exact same spot as this one on the shoulder and now it looks incredible...the hi has really gone a deep red.
It's patter also closely resembles this ones......actually its the one kohaku in the pic of Cossie's showa gift |

| I bought this Kohaku from Cape Koi Aquarium, i am guessing but i think Servaas De Kock brought it in.
Btw, i actually like the pointy nose. I hope this koi develops into a stunner as i really like it. I am showing it this weekend even though i don't expect a placing. |

| Wayne, I don't know if it is the photo but this koi's body has a more rounded curve to it on the left side than it has on it's right. |
