Almost Joe, Almost.


A few terms first.

Tsubo-Sumi = Sumi on a white Ground.
Kasane-Sumi = Sumi on the Hi.
Miseba = Focal Point.

The sumi pattern on a good Sanke must have a focal Point. A Miseba.

Tsubo Sumi is held in high regard.

Tsubo Sumi that appears as The Miseba is Kata-Sumi.


So basically A Bold Tsubo-Sumi on the Shoulder is Kata-Sumi.
