Met my vorige dam kon ek net 'n helse groot 110mm metaal valve kry.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I'm imagining a pond all across from the side you currently have planned but including your current steps area where you could have stepping stones leading to that step location with pond below it......would be a nice additional couple of meters that you could add to your pond. I just built a 4.2x1.6x1.4m pond 2 months ago and i'm already crying for a bigger pond |

| see the other side of your steps has a house window there.........I'm still imagining here...lol.......imagining now changing that window there to a pond window, which allows viewing access from the inside of the house, change that window to 10mm glass and seal it and you can view the inside of the pond from the comfort within your house............sorry, but just thinking aloud |

| Hi All I was away last week and due business commitments only have a day or two for the pond this week, weather permitting. This is a self build scheme and time is an issue. Hiring Marius from Tanzania will definitely speed up the process. Thanks for all the comments about the size and step area but the local authorities took 5 months to pass this plan with many restrictions. My filter system (purchased some time ago) is designed to cope with 24000 to 32000lt of water. The plan is to keep only 8 to 12 Koi in this pond to enable them to be the best they can be. |

Due to the inconsistency of a manual mix, I would probably make use of ready mix cement. Concrete area about 3.6 x 7.6 including filter pit.
Would 200 slab thickness do or should I go for 250, pond depth between 2.1 and 2.5 (steel in floor and uprights for walls)
My plan for the wall build will be cement bricks on the outer and a 100mm gap for piping and concrete fill (300mm wall)
The pond wall closest to the house will only be between 500 and 700 above ground but the wall facing the street will be about 1.3 to 1.6m out of the ground plus another 500 to a meter security wall on top. I am concerned to get the right strength for this wall! |

| Gaan helse mooi dam wees.

| I have all the local authorities involved in my pond build. Firstly its reallocating sewerage pipe and now I have to obtain permission to move the main water meter 500mm towards the boundary [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then today it was the main electrical supply to the house. More municipal and electrical negotiations. What more can I find standing in my way to go forward? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
