Started on the bottom drain pipe work today, waiting for steel. The yellow lines mark the outer and inner brickwork. 300mm thick walls, with a cavity of 90mm allowing for pipework, steel and concrete fillings. The pipework needs to be in position in the concrete at this stage to accommodate the Nexus & Pod inlets later on in the process.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Nexus lid only, as my Nexus 300 has been running to mature KI for the past year at a friends pond in Vredenburg. Positioning the pipe work and the position of the 110mm ball valve is crucial at this stage. A second pod will be positioned to the left is currently running on my QT and will feed via 110mm reduced to a 90mm pipe via a 90mm ball valve off a skimmer in the center.

The 110 ball valve is impressive! and needs space. All fittings are High pressure fittings and the pipework class 9 pipe

Evil or Very Mad bom

It is better to support the steel with steel pins. The role of the steel is to prevent the concrete from separating on hairline cracks. Where it runs flat over the bricks this role is diluted.

What interest me in these shots is the fact that the pipes are above the mesh.

Maak my ook sommer lus vir dam bou!

PS ... Bogenoemde is bloot my opinie.

Dankie Colyn,
LOL
