| Hi Chris, Overall impression is good, however the head is a bit dirty, the zip could have been a bit darker and more pronounced. Iwould have liked to see more blue above the lateral line, that is my opinion, but nice fish. |

| Hi Chris, To me, Overall a nice fish, (pond fish not show ) I think however that the hi comes up too high (I assume the fish is under 30Cm) and the head is not all that clean, although it may still come cleaner. I also think the zip is not all that well defined. |

| It is a Hi Shusui, and I sometimes prefer the Hi Shusui (Hi at the top) above the traditional Shusui (Hi below the lateral line)
The Zip could be better but might improve.
Overall a nice Hi Shusui to me.

| There's always mention that head should be clean & red up to dorsal line but if you look at pics of the perfect Shusui, the red always goes up this high....
I understand the clean head but can someone please explain why the perfect shusui pics always have the red looking similar to this one? |

| Chris, the shesui's head looks to big for its body. It might be that its not getting enough food or that it is a short koi. How old and length?
You can show with any koi....any koi can be a show koi. Knowing the cape town shesuis i can tell you that you can show with this koi in the cape and get a 1st as there are not many shesuis around.
What you must look for on a shesui is shimis. If you see any on the koi then know that it will become worse with time. The scales of the zip is beter if it is light blue cause it will become darker with time. Dont go for a shesui that has black on the scales.
If the head is slightly blue and its a young koi then it may become better with time but if its 30+cm and have blue on the head then that might come out with time and become worse.
The red looks fine to me. Although i would have prefered that it did not overlap on the tailtube. Red flares upwards as the koi gets older so you want a young koi with as little as possible red on the flanks... |

| Thanks Wayne. This koi is 1 year old and between 25cm - 30cm. I'm looking at purchasing it and was just wanting some opinions on it. |
