I like Danichi Koi and a good Kindai, what do i know, but the pecs look very pointy, could be a male ?
Maybe I have not made peace with a batch of really stunning Danichi Tosai that all turned out to be male. At least my male Sanke from the batch has a nice body.

Very unhappy today.....I lost this showa over the weekend after just having it for a month. Was looking at it over a couple of days and just saw it deteriorating in front of me. Saw now that it got dropsy, was going to medicate it but realised that it seemed to be developing a hump on the front left side of it's body so after having a chat to Pieter realised that it's probably a tumor that is growing and putting pressure on the kidneys. So decided to cut my losses and euthanize....especially after the fact that while I was handeling it rather gently half of it's tailfin had fallen off!!!....in pics 2 (below dorsal fin) and 4 (below tail fin) you can see the tail fin part that had fallen off

Amazing that if you look at the pics above how this all happened in just a month.

There must have been something very wrong internally to deteriorate like that in such a shot time. Dropsy usually takes looooong to set in, first sign is usually the eyes that look popped out.

Hi Wayne, well this fish deteriorated at the speed of light...as you can see the eyes did not even pop.......quite upset as last week I saw my 2 male showas chasing her and my other females around the pond, prodding at them etc... so knew she was female as well!!!

Quite enjoyed watching the males chasing, allowed me to determin which of my fish are male and which are female.....oh well!!!
