backwash issue Empty
PostSubject: backwash issue   backwash issue EmptyTue Aug 24, 2010 1:26 am

When i backwash, water still trickles out from the pipe entering the pond.

I am worried that some of the bad bacteria is making its way back to the pond and causing infections (which always happens). I have subsequently replaced the top part of the wagon wheel (with the handle). I have also this weekend changed the wagon wheel rubber below and added some glue to keep it in place.

This still has not stopped water from trickling out the pipe entering the pond, although it has reduced.

Any advice, anyone.

Kind Rgds

Sounds like a faulty multiport valve.... Just replacing the top part won't work. I suggest getting someone from a pool place to check it out for you.

Hi ubhaga

That trickle during backwash will pose no threat to your pond. That water is in your system and it wont bother.

If you are concerned about bad bacteria and dirty filters go have a look at this site
