Directions from Cape Town:

- Take the N1 towards Paarl.
- Take the Mackentire/ Plattekloof turnoff (on left)
- By the off ramp by traffic lights, turn left onto the M14
- Drive on with this road until you get to a traffic circle (Caltex Refinery on right.)
- Drive around traffic circle and turn right onto M13.
- Carry on with this RD app 4 km on, D Hills is situated on right hand side. (Flags by our entrance)[b]

I am sure we will enjoy, the weather predictions seems to be positive for us.

We will have 4 first time hobbyist joining the show scene as newbies and one visited your show the past week-end, Collin Hunt, Collin is an old hand with Koi but has never showed his Koi before.

On the other hand we will have the experienced Ernst that is always up for a challenge.

I hope all the hobbyist will have fun and be back to enter for our August 2010 show at WillowBridge Mall.

Yes Bobby, this is a challenge for the local judges to see how good they really are as I purchased a few prize winners that were judged by some international judges.

Hello Collin, it is always the opinion of the judges on the day. One of my Koi won supreme size 3 in George with an International judge present and 3 months later in Cape Town it was judged to have a serious body defect.

I understand, not an easy task.

Some Trophy results of our 1rst WCBKS

A very big thank you to our stand in Judges 1. Servaas de Kok 2. Drikus van Dijk and 3. Lee Ann Nel. Our judges for the day took their task very seriously and I am sure the results reflect this.

We had 14 x2 meter ponds and 111 koi entered for the show.
Maybe we should rename our show the Quinton Jones / Collin Hunt Show as between them they walked away with 4 each of the available 15 trophies on offer.
We will take some pictures tomorrow.

In my opinion the Koi on show was of an high standard for a 1rst Baby Koi Show and could only grow from strength to strength.

The ginrins very seldom take the top prices and a pity that that large Kohaku in your show vat was too large. Stunning fish.

I know of at least a first and second, but lets wait for the final results.

I think your Ochiba, Tancho and Purachina did well.

Wow that is great news and all those koi come from you I can't balive that kohku is over 45 cm that is a 20 cm growth in 5 months

My hi utsuri that I did not take to the show jumped out my pond yesturday my wife found it dead it is my daughters koi she is besides herself. Do you know if there is a Showa at the show that is worth getting or another hi utsuri

Seeing you are unable to attend I may as well tell you that I have awarded your Ochiba the Chairman's Award. Your Ochiba was also in contention for Grand champion B. So well done!!

Well done to all the first time entrants who took home prizes.

Congrats to all the "old timers" on their trophies and certificates.

Thanks to the set-up team and benchers as well as all the other people who contributed to our first baby koi show.

Of course a big thank you to our chairman Bobby for his hard work and dedication. And Durbanville Hills Winery for a fantastic venue.
