| It's very difficult to make a call from this angle. R13k for 40cm nissai (very small for nissai this time of the year) is a very steep price - if the dealer is willing to guareentee the sex it might be a bit different. New style Goshiki has no robing on the hi plates - I can allready see some developing so I will pass on this one if given the oppertunity. For R13k you could probably land a box of high grade tosai from Hiroi and there is bound to be a few good ones like this one. Paul gets Goshiki from Hiroi frequently so perhaps he can comment. |

| Hi Ernst That a good idea when hobbyist buy more expensive smaller Koi to ask for a sex guarantee in writing. Not sure how one will follow up on the default though unless a dealer with good reputation. |

| This is a Kuro Goshiki and tends to become very black and is not as valuable as the white modern style Goshiki when large, although the contrast between the dark almost metallic hi and black is often very striking on the Kuro Goshiki.
Servaas De Kock send me a mail a while ago "Kuro Goshiki! Ek weet baie mense koop die goed, maar hulle hou selde verby die derde jaar" |

| Look at this one that won the Ginrin B class a few days ago at the Wakagoi koi show. This is stunning, but the price tag will be much much more than R 13 000.00 Sourced from http://www.niigata-nishikigoi.com/ with permission. Check out the other show winner on Mark's site above. |

| Pity this nice fish had to be classed as a Ginrin fish I am sure it could have also won as a normal Goshiki |

| Interesting question. I also have not seen a very big Goshiki either. I have encountered that the Asagi's grow slower than other varieties, Maybe only my personal experience, and Goshiki's are basically Asagi x Kohaku as far as I know? |

| Hi Ahmed,
I have today seen a very nice Goshiki of around 65cm at my friends place and he showed me in th ZNA magazine there was quite a few large Goshiki,s 70 to 85 cm so yes they grow big. And I must say that the one was a red and very dark nearly black fish, very nice ones |

| Hi Paul My question arose from the observation of the Goshiki I purchased from you , she's bout 25cm now and beautiful too...whereas the ogon , hariwake , ochiba , kohaku have grown considerably faster & bigger that her. They reaching 40cm easily...so that is why I thought Goshikis just grow slower than other koi. |
