Ok, might be a silly question. you get PH meters designed for gardening, PH range from 03 to 10. they are freely available, and have seen on bidorbuy too (http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/17185226/pH_Meter.html)

Now they are designed for soil PH testing, has anybody tried testing PH in water with them?

seen that discussion, just a big big difference between R199 for the garden one and almost R2000 for the other type, its almost worth a test to see if it does work.....just stick it in some water see what happens

You can buy the KioMedic pH meter for +-R700 but it can only test pH. The Hanna for R1800 can do more.

I have not seen the garden pH meters before but it might not be accurate since the range is from 3 to 10.

Is it a digital meter with a scale of 0.1?
