Subject: Evaporation calculate? Mon Oct 19, 2009 11:50 am
Ok, here is an interesting one. Does anybody have an idea how to calculate to evaporation from a pond, that is planted with plants etc?
Oberving my top pond the water leaving sinks depending on the wind and heat, would be curious if that can be calulated.

I was forced to put a pool blanket on my pool because of the evaporation. It was taking like 1cm every 2-3 days. Pool is 6X3.

I have lots of water liellies and other water plants and I am dropping about 1cm per day, checked for leaks but as the weather cools down, and we have no wind, its fine again, so itis evaporation....

I have no plants in my pond it was built last year Aug over the summer i was convinced i had a leek but was told it was evaparation was told to put a bucket with water next to the pond mark the water level to see if it droped the same as the pond it still did not give me my answer but in the winter it went a week with no rain and my pond did not drop
