| Red in the eye is a indication of strong red but judges view it as a demerit. |

| Hi Cliff I like the Kohaku. Good body, nice white and the pattern looks good. The red on the tail looks like it will break away a bit, leaving you with a nice tail pattern end, with just the right amount of white. I hope the white breaking trough on the head above the eye will recover and is not a sign that the fish will loose his red. I have a Kohaku that lost all his red and it started that way. But I also have a Goshiki that did the same but the red recovered and is thick now. Other wise I think this fish will grow into a beautiful female Kohaku.  |
