One of the words used on this forum on a regular basis is "Koi hobbyist" It is used by the members using the Afrikaans and English language.

For a moment I thought, what is "koi hobbyist" in Afrikaans? Matriculated in Bloemfontein and grew up very Afrikaans, I should know that, but no.

I bet that almost no Afrikaans speaking person (or English speaking member for that matter) on this forum can answer this question without referring to a dictionary.

I bet that if I use the Afrikaans version, members will think, what the heck is that.

I wonder if anybody knew?

Well the Afrikaans for Koi Hobbyist is "koi stokperd ryer" or "koi knutselaar"

Is koi knutselaar similar to Koi Kichi (Koi Crazy)

It exactly translates to Koi Hobbyist but looks like koi nut

So you could also get a "koi kitchi knutselaar" (koi crazy hobbyist)
