Our forum is now two years old. Herewith the stats after two years which indicates a 170% increase in posts and members for the second year.

Views of posts are around 90 000 which indicates that we have a lot of viewers who do not join or post.

I am pleased to say that I believe our forum has covered almost all possible topics on koi keeping, and I believe it is a very good source of information on koi keeping in South Africa.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the participants for great, relevant and valuable inputs.

Compared to the top forums in UK and USA, our figures are much lower. However, we have to bear in mind that we have much less koi hobbyists. They also increase their stats dramatically with non relevant crap, purely to increase their stats. One of the largest forums for instance have a thread where you may post only three words like "bread and butter" etc. That thread alone (mainly by the Administrators) created more than 20 000 posts, which gives a false impression of the activity. Koi Bito and Koiphen are great International forums, but there is still a place for good local koi forums, and I believe that this forum and Pieter's forum provides that.

Koi forums are still the greatest source of information, because the information given are being discussed and tested. Please continue to participate, and if you have any suggestions on how to improve the forum, I shall be pleased to hear from you.

I personally have gained from reading the local forum, and it's should be a safe place where Koi lovers can share information and experiences. A place one should evaluate and tolerate other opinions. I have not seen two identical pond set-ups and therefore also lots of different views and or opinions on a subject. As I know my set-up best, I will take from the advise that is best suited to my needs and budget.
Keep up the good work and let us all grow the Koi industry to be fun for all.
