Firstly thank you for mentioning Niigata Nishikigoi Digest on this forum.
To answer a point you've raised, there are no plans at all to start charging for the electronic magazine.
Any feedback from readers much appreciated.

Hi Mark That is really good news and I am sure that the hobbyists from South Africa will enjoy your monthly magazine although it is UK based. We do not have local koi magazines except for a free South African Koi Society magazine to members. Good quality, and I am looking forward to the October issue. Keep up the good work. |

My magazine is not UK based!!!
I live in Ojiya in Niigata, Japan, I've lived here for 20 months having kept Koi for almost 25 years.
Yamakoshi is my back garden!

The Koi Keepers in SA normally build a pond out of Concrete, use swimming pool motors, sand filters, Nexus. Americans prefer liner ponds. How about a small article on the way you guys are building ponds and filtration systems? |

We'll be doing some stuff on Japanese hobbyists ponds, in fact you can read some stuff on my blog here http://www.niigata-nishikigoi.com/node/479
Poured concrete is the typical method of construction for both pond and filters here.
