Congratulations to Bobby who was appointed the new Chairman of SAKKS Western Cape last night.
Press release from the Western Cape Koi AGM held at the Willowbridge Dros on 26 August 2009 @ 19h00
The following committee members were elected.
Chairman Bobby Matthee 083 654 3088
Vice Chairman Jonathan Sawyer 082 872 1615
Secretary Wayne Barker 072 184 0501
Treasurer Rezanne Viljoen 073 703 0072
Additional Committee members: Christie van Zyl, Craig Corby, Quinton Jones, John Rex, Mark Lackey, Drikus van Dijk, Paul Viljoen, Eugen Binedell
The committee appreciates your vote of confidence. We commit ourselves to the Koi hobby and would like to play a positive role in creating Koi fun.
Our goal would be to arrange pond Safaris, increase the membership, monthly meetings/socials, Koi Show’s and to apply our minds how to enjoy Koi by taking hands with the dealers and breeders to grow the hobby to the benefit of all.
We are looking at ways to enter into a joint partnership with the dealers and breeders that will benefit SAKKS, the Koi keepers and dealers. A grow and show Koi competition comes to mind and the committee are looking forward to opportunities to interact with its members and dealers.
You have our commitment. We need your input and ideas for us all having fun and to grow our Koi hobby. The Western Cape Koi Society will have to find sponsors and create income opportunities for the Society to meet this commitment to its members.
A recent quote from Koi Atlantic “People must feel that they will miss out on something good” Our goal should be that members and non members are kept interested and new members wanting to join not to miss out on the Koi fun.
A recent comment from Koi Online “ Wil beslis die grow-out doen met 10 Sakai Matsunosuke Showa's of 10 Sanke's van dieselfde grootte en sal voorstelle binnekort stuur waarby SAKKS kan baat vind.”
A recent comment from Cape Koi Aquarium “it looks very professional. Makes one proud to be part of a group of people who are willing to put time and effort into growing our hobby. Thank you Jonathan and Bobby. I will be at the AGM and I am looking forward to see old friends again and making new ones. It is important for all of us that has the interest of the Western Cape Chapter at heart to be at the Dros at Willowbridge on 26 August 2009
With all this commitment how can Koi not be a winner?
An open invite to all our Western Cape the Dealers
Please forward this to your clients to create awareness that we are serious to take our Koi hobby to the next level. We would appreciate any Koi Keeper that is prepared to open their pond for our SAKKS members and Koi keepers to visit. We have no requirements to pond size or quality of Koi only to spend some time around a Koi pond and share experiences for us all to learn.
