| Show Rules This will be an English Style Show and each entrant will be allocated a separate pond with fish being kept separate throughout the judging process. Participants with more than one vat may not move koi between vats once benching has taken place. Vats must be booked and paid for in advance and ponds will be allocated upon receipt of payment. There is a limited number of vats available as can be seen from the site plan and no vat is considered booked until payment in full has been received. Please book early and by no later than 9 May 2009. Please ensure that your SAKKS membership is up to date as only SAKKS members will be allowed to enter fish in the show. Use the booking form in this prospectus to secure your pond(s) and book your ponds as well as your attendance at the spitbraai. Photographs Photos will be taken at the show during benching so no photos are required with your show entry. Benching Entrants with large entries are encouraged to arrive early on the Friday for benching. All fish from the same entrant MUST be benched together. The show is an English style show with entrant’s koi all in their own reserved vats. Entrants will be given a vat number and benching will be done in that vat, in the order in which entrants arrive - if you leave and your benching number is called, you will bench at the end. Benching closes at 16h00 on Friday 22 May 2009 and no fish can be entered after this time. The entrant must remain at the benching area at all times during the benching of his / her fish. The benching master or show chairman has the right to refuse acceptance of any fish suspected of harboring disease or parasites. Equipment - Nets Each person entering koi in the show will be expected to provide one net for the duration of the show for each vat booked. Entrants with multiple vats will supply one net per vat to ensure that no mix up happens with nets being transported between vats. Nets may not be shared between exhibitors either and the club will not supply any nets. Nets must be clearly marked and remain at the pond-side at all times. Nets handles must be a minimum of three meters in length to ensure it can reach the opposite side of a pond. Entrants must take care not to transport their nets in a horizontal position and allow water drops to enter other ponds. Health Inspection All fish entries will be thoroughly inspected for parasitic and bacterial infestations, serious injury and serious stress by the club health officer. The health officers on duty reserve the right to reject any fish entries due to health related issues. All entries MUST be starved for one week prior to the show and should preferably be kept in isolation. Entries which have been hauled from mud dams within 6 weeks of the show are prohibited from entry, as well as any fish imported into the country within 8 weeks of the show. |
