Trying to classify Empty
PostSubject: Trying to classify   Trying to classify EmptySat Apr 04, 2009 5:28 pm

The one on the right (25cm) - is it a Kinrin Matsuba. Trying the classification for the first time.

Quality - well shaped but the scales at the bottom are not clear and therefore of lower quality.

The one on the left, just look s (20cm) just plain dirty and scales are like the other 1 . Have no idea what it is though.

Am i on the right track

No, Kinrin means shining (sparkling) golden scales. The one on the right is a Ki Matsuba. (Ki means yellow and Matsuba is a one coloured fish with black outlines on it's scales creating a "pine cone effect" This is a low quality Ki Matsuba because the black outlined scales are not consistent or alligned.

The fish on the left can not be classified as it it a mixture of a few varieties, probably from flock spawning in a pond and has no value.
