This Koi is an Aka Matshuba!
A Red Koi with black markings in the centre of the scales.The red head of the Aka Natsuba should have no black markings or specks. Although not as rare as the Ki or Shiro Matsuba, this Koi has become less common in recent years.
Ki Matshuba
This is a yellow based equivelent of the Aka Matsuba and is an extremely rare Koi.
Shiro Matsuba
A white Koi with black pine-cone patterning in the scales.Like the Ki Matsuba, it is a very rare variety.
These Koi are classified under Kawarimono
This is a Kin Masuba (Matsuba Ogon),
Each scale of this metalic gold-yellow koi has a black centre, giving the body a pine-cone pattern.
Gin Matsuba.
This is the silver version of the Kin Matshuba.
Their classification: Hikarimono ( hikari meaning metalic and mono meaning single colour)
So, the Koi in question is an Aka Matsuba.
