| Not really a koi question.
I have a 30cm lion head gold fish his "vratte" has now grown so much that its covering his eyes. Is this normal. I have noticed that he is no longer as active as what he used to be. I have also no idea if he is eating anymore as he no longer swims around the surface.
What do i do know?

Wayne It's normaly for the "vratte" covering his eye. Since he can see anymore, there are to option: 1) Do an operation to remove the excessive "vratte", but i don't recommend this. 2) He can still smell food, so try to feed sinking pellets at the same spot every time, and see if he can eat the pellets. Any photos? |

| I started with goldfish and then later introduced the koi. My goldfish have really changed a lot. I have had these two since 2005.My koi where about 25-30cm at that time. The following pictures are from April 2006. The lion head never looked like a real lion head. It started out as a normal goldfish, you can see him, in the video - he is the bigger looking gold fish.
