Hey All,

I dont really know what garden designs would fall under, busy redoing my garden but am struggling to soarce Japanese statue/ornaments. Been through the usual garden centre's but no luck. Does any one have/know a contact. Namely Japanese warriors,dragons and Glazed pots.
This is on a budget.

I maybe splitting hairs and talking complete carp but your garden sounds more like Chinese than Japanese, to me Japanese gardens may have those typical stone lights like little pagodas but by and large they are miniature representations of the natural landscape so carefully places rocks and the correct planting, well pruned, is what it's about. Warriors to me would be more like the Terracotta Army from the Emperor Huang's tomb.

You are correct but the Japanese and Zen gardens - have a soothing effect, encouraging a meditative mood and a tranquility of mind. Zen gardens - composed of rocks and raked gravel - require no water at all (if no moss is used around the rocks).The "futon dogs' are placed at the entrance to the garden at the foot of the 'Tori' gate which symbolises you are entering a wetland. the Warriors form part of a garden design as a focal point, as the same as 'The Ming ladies' which is also Japanese.
