Tilapia and koi Tilapia

Tilapia(Mosambiek kurper)

I bough a few Koi from a guy a few years ago and he insisted that I also take the above Tilapia because he wanted to demolish his pond.

Initially he was extremely wild, he always separated himself from the Koi and I was concerned that it would not cope with a shallow pond, warmer water and Koi food.

After two years he became quite tame and started to socialize with the koi. Identity crisis!

My kids threw a few very small koi babies (6 cm) in the pond a while ago (which were supposed to be culled but they secretly tried to save them) Yesterday I noticed that they were gone. Do you think the Tilapia is the culprit, being a carnivore?
