Hi all, just a quick question -is Pumice sold as lava rock ? And if not can it be used as bio media ?

Hi Ray...they are not the same thing, pumice would make a very effective bio media as long as it is not placed in a pressurized system as it would just break down there.
I enquired on it recently and it is very difficult to source....think it is perfect for a bakkie shower type environment

@Cliff, yes it is R350/25 kg bag. 50-70 mm. I will get some for my bakki but not main filter @OomPieter, I have a 2000 lt open up flow bio,finding good media at a reasonable price is a BIG problem !
