Some of my koi Empty
PostSubject: Some of my koi   Some of my koi EmptySat Jan 05, 2013 4:59 pm

Hi Guys,

You've all been very helpfull in the construction of my pond and adding fish and all the information on this forum.

Thank you so much!

It's been a couple of months and the koi babies are doing great!

I thought I share some pics, unfortunatly the naming of the koi are still too difficult for me I'm learning, so if you can identify some it would be great.

I bought these fish from Colin at Joshua Koi as well as Stuart at Koilami - thanks guys

Hey Willie, your fish are looking good

1st pic - Doitsu Hi Showa
2nd pic - Purachina Ogon
3rd pic - Asagi
4th pic - top left to right - Shiro Utsuri, Kujaku, Kumunryo.....bottom both look like doitsu hariwake's
5th pic - hi utsuri and shiro utsuri
and the last 2 pics is a chagoi

Think I may have full marks except for exact type on 1 or 2

Cliff I agree with you on the varieties, except for the hariwaki- looks like doitsu kohaku to me but we would only know if we can see a better photo of it or if Willie can tell us if its metallic or not. Nice pond fish to start your pond with Willie. Very Happy

The Doitsu Hariwake or Doitsu Kohaku Laughing both are metalic athough the one is more orange and silver and the smaller one yellow and silver, the yellow is starting to develop nicely now.

I'm currently swimming around in the pond trying to net and take pics of the fish - lost of fun hahaha.

O the Asagi - I actually bought as an Aka Matsuba ?

In total I have 18 koi which I would like to know their real names.

Thanks guys and whatch this space.

The top one I will go with Doitsu Kujaku and the lower one Doitsu Hariwaki. I still agree with Cliff on the Asagi because Aka Matsuba wont have white anywhere.
