Got this little guy from koi depot at the recent EL koi show. If I remember correctly Lionel said its from yamazaki. Can't wait to get my new pond done so it has room to grow! He also gave me a little hariwake that he found in his selling pond after he had already packed his left over fish away on sunday afternoon, He told me its also a japanese import. Can see it had some damage to its pec fins, but they are already healing and growing out, so I'm hoping they will grow out perfectly. Its also a little bit skinny, nothing a bit of good food won't fix.

Nice Chris....the karashigoi has a nice big mouth.

I have a karashi that I bought at 25cm last September and it is already around 57cm's now...they are lovely fish and grow fast and are so friendly.

The hariwake looks good as well.

Would like to see it as it grows to see how the yellow improves

I have the elder sister of your Koi...but I got mine in Japan...directly from Yamazaki...
I love my Karashi...it is a big gulper!
I am not sure if mine is tosai or nisai....but they did not have any smaller ones....so it could be even a sister to yours...
Mine is around 45cm...but I have not measured it yet.

This karashigoi is still tiny, less than 10cm I'd say. But it really does have a big mouth and a decent appetite. The hariwake is even smaller, it has already started getting a better shape, it was very thin, but it eats the most out of the 4 new koi in my quarantine pond.

When your Karashi grows...U will be one happy bambo!
