BLUSHING Empty
PostSubject: BLUSHING   BLUSHING EmptySat May 03, 2008 9:48 am

Three weeks ago I brought a number of large Koi (40cm - 60cm) up from Durban to Heidelberg Gauteng and placed them into a 8000l pond. The fish are eating well but they appear to be blushing. I thought that this could be due to the 600km trip in the back of my Corsa bakkie but would have expected them to have adapted by now. Is it possible that they are still stressed or is it something more serious Question Question Question

Hi,

When Koi stress, the white on the fish becomes "pink,” and it should go away within 10 days.
If the pond is overstock it could carry on and it could cause some problems.
By adding some salt ( 1kg per 1000 liters water) will help with the stress.
Please post some photos.
