| Cought this one with my bare hands underneath the netting of a mud dam this afternoon. I feel guilty killing them. It is a beautiful bird, but despite the netting, they find a way to get in and they really cause havoc. My small fish are so scared, they are afraid to come up to eat because of the daily visits by Herons. I wonder how many small fish I lost over the past month. Cape Town had very little rain until now, depite the fact that the rainng season started month ago and therefore there are no frogs or other natural food. They became so desperate for food, that they will find any small hole in the netting or climb underneath, and (fortunately) can't get out when you approach them suddenly.

| Paul you might have to build a small dam and put all your culled koi in their without a net, who knows they might get the message and stay out of the main ponds. |
