Liner question Empty
PostSubject: Liner question   Liner question EmptyWed Dec 14, 2011 2:38 pm

I'm probably gonna take a lot of flak for this but can I use 250 micron liner instead of 500? And maybe an even weirder question... if 500mic is the way to go can I use 2 x 250mic layered one on top of the other? I really can't afford to pay thousands so weighing up my options. scratch

Well i dont know if i am right so correct me if i am wrong.

But i think it will work as long as its protected from the sun.
And there is sufficient cover on the outside to protect it from obstacles. (2nd layer??)

The idea is to use old carpet as an under-lining to keep away the stones and other things. The area intended for the pond will be well shaded from the sun by trees and the house...so should be fine there bounce

Maybe a shade cloth Roof?

Aldo that would be expensive unless you can organize something

2 x 250 is going to cost you a bit less than 1 x 500

The 250 will perish after a year where it is exposed to sun. I have done it and will never do it again.

When you get a hole in the first layer, it will still hold the water, but it creates fantastic breeding ground for bad bacteria between the first and second layer due to the unaerated stagnant water. Dangerous!!
