My attempt at spawning. Will it work?

What do you guy's think. Any advice

Note the submersible pump in the center pumping towards the surface. That is my alternative to aeration. Called "Flooming".

Dankie Chris

Jou spawning brushes lyk ook so bietjie min?

Ek sal se sit so bietjie plante in.

PostSubject: Re: Giving it a Go   Giving it a Go EmptySat Oct 02, 2010 1:08 am

Hi almal,

Sal hom next time uithaal in die aand.

PostSubject: Re: Giving it a Go   Giving it a Go EmptySat Oct 02, 2010 7:46 am

Hi Albie,

Giving it a Go Empty
PostSubject: Re: Giving it a Go   Giving it a Go EmptySat Oct 02, 2010 5:04 pm

Hi Neville

MG...hmmm.

PostSubject: Re: Giving it a Go   Giving it a Go EmptySat Oct 02, 2010 7:02 pm

Hi Wayne

So dit is nou hulle probleem.

Die modderdam is mooi groot en dit is aan my spawning gealokeer en ek kan nog insit so ons sal mooi sien hoe hulle ontwikkel (as hulle ontwikkel)
Intussen het ek die dam mooi skoon gemaak, VirkonS in gesit, nuwe sakkies ( al my duur borsels ens is nou by die ander manne).

Gaan more probeer dat my Gin Ochiba ook spawn.

Hi All
Please again take note of the different methods of aeration used and the cleanliness of the flooming method compared to the foamy air stone method?

Giving it a Go SDC10339

Giving it a Go SDC10337

A bit disappointed today, The fish I thought were male turned out to be female, suppose that is better for future quality but now I don't have proper pairs to mix. Anyway it is just to get the females to get rid of the load.

The Shiro that spawned yesterday looks great again.

Well as you see still up late or rather early. Did I have a problem to get this second Bi..ch to spawn 3 days later and 3 males. poor sanke he had to come do it again. She eventually started spawning at around midnight.
Tomorrow I will have to cleanup the mess again but fortunately another bloated female saved. Actually a nice Gin Itchuba.
Wow thought I am going to have to give up on her.

A: After a few hours. (give him a day or two is what ill say before the poor bugger gets a heart attack)

Thanks Wayne

Poor sanke is going to love me for this, every couple days a new female. He did all the work again last night.

I have at discovered two more males not the best mix but at least for now it is fine.

Well, can you believe it. The third female spawned from 11.00 today and she finished the job around 5.00. I have returned them to the main pond. New couple tomorrow morning.

This is hard work, and I still have at least 5 to go.

Jaco can maybe tell us here, will it be ant good to put a gin Itchuba with a doits itchuba male, can one expect to see some doits Itchuba offspring.

lol!

Please let me help you; you must be talking about an OCHIBA-SHIGURE! A blue-grey Koi with a brown pattern.

Now, to answer your question while I am at it..........
If both the Female and Male are Wagoi, the chances are good for 100% Wagoi fry
If the Female is a Wagoi and the Male Doitsu, it could be 50/50
If the Female is Doitsu and the Male Wagoi, it could be 50/50

But if the Female is from a Wagoi/Doitsu spawning and the Male from a 100% Wagoi the ratio could be 75%Wagoi and 25% Doitsu. If it’s the other way around it could be 25% Wagoi and 75% Doitsu.

When both came from Wagoi/Doitsu spawning it could go anyway.

PS. I hear a Bloody Merry is good to stop that drunken knocking the morning after!

Trust my spelling is correct this time lol!
