Was told that Chagoi bring harmony and peace into a pond, is that true? They become extreemly tame, and other fish will follow. As somebody experienced this?

definitely true, my chag is not there yet, bought her small. She's grown unbelievably in the 3 months I've had her. She is the first to feed and come to the surface and I know it's just a matter of time before she is eating out my hand. I bought her where she was one of the smaller fish in my pond and in the last 3 months she is now the biggest in my pond.

She's one of my favourites and cannot wait for next year this time cos I feel she's then going to have an amazing size presence in my pond. But as for calmness etc they definitely bring that to the other fish I'd say.

Hi

I would Agree with that although mine has been in my pond since day1.It always comes to me when i go near the pond and takes food from me.This behavior has also rubbed off on the other fish although there are still a few which are unsure.

A tip i got from Pieter is two put honey on your fingers and add brown bread crumbs and be patient and they will come get it.

Excuse the pics they were taken with my phone and the pond had only been running for 6 weeks.

Trying to get my koi to hand feed and calm down, although I have a net, we are on a small holding with lots of "disturbances" during the day. That include, chickens coming past, horses etc etc

My fish have always been hand fed right from small.
I think it depends on how they are fed - if they associate you with food and you take the time to hand feed, they get used to it very quickly. Now they just see me approaching and practically fly out the water trying to get at my hand first. lol
Its really funny.
