Hi -
Our budgeting for the Gauteng Koi Show is finalised after the meeting this afternoon.
1) As a service to our members/koi keepers the entrance fee to the show is the same as last year. Adults R20.00 each, children hlaf price and pensioners (or as they are referred to on this site – oom) also half price.
There is no charge for parking. (Had to put that in as I went to the Hobby X expo this morning and paid R15.00 for parking and R50 per person to get in).
2) We only have 60 show ponds available at the show for members to show their fish. We have quite a few pond bookings already with some members paying before they even know the entrance fee for a koi vat! For koi society members the fee to enter onto the show is R400 per vat. The same as last year.
I suggest that anyone thinking of showing fish at the Gauteng koi show to please make sure their membership fees are up-to-date and if you are not a member to please join the society. The show ponds are on a first come first served basis.
There are 23 dealers stands available. Lots of Koi for sale, pumps, air pumps, filter systems, air stones etc etc. An opportunity to meet dealers and see their stock. A number of names are on the waiting list. Details with a finalised site plan go out tomorrow from the Administrator to all dealers.
There will be a show dinner and an auction at the show site to raise funds for the Society on the Saturday night the 15th May. Bookings for this fun event, where you can meet other koi keepers and relax, will open tomorrow. All proceeds of the dinner and auction go towards running the society for the next year.
The Gauteng is the largest Koi Show in the Southern Hemisphere. We need people to help at the show on the Friday, Saturday and on the Sunday – various things – can you help us? What are you interested in helping with?
If you can help us please send me a message or email me so we can discuss it.
Regards,
Chris
