Help needed

Hi all

I am in need of a 35watt UV sterilizer. I will be happy if it is a used unit I will supply a new globe for it if need be, hoping that someone has one lying around.

I need this for a Junior koi keeper whom I have been helping over the last couple of weeks to try and get rid of algae, Found out between the lines that he does not have a UV on a 6000Lt pond wit 4 fish in it. Because he cannot afford one.

Any body that can help I will appreciate it, don't all shout together now.

I will have a courier collect or if someone wants to pay for it I will collect it from Ultrazap.
Just call me and I will arrange that we get it at cost.

Nice gestures from all.....however would it not be better to get a 15w UV sterilizer rather?....it is cheaper as well as the globes are cheaper for this person in the long run?

15w for 6000lt's is more than enough.

I just bought 15w globes for R90 each....surely the 30w globes are double that price

The price diff is not that great and he currently has a major problem poor guy cannot even see his fish, it is starting to clear up now after treatments. A UV should anyway be much higher than recommended.

If you like you can sponsor him with a Ultrazap Bio filter, he only has a makeshift effort at present.

The UV as donated by Bobby is already on it's way.

Het vandag Pieter by my koi dam gehad. Daar is redelik veranderings wat ek op my filter sisteem moet aanbring. Enige donasies vanaf 5 sak sandfilters tot 100 liter bio filters sal hoogs wardeer word.

Ek stem saam ek sou ten minste n kundige persoon gekry het om my te adviseer.

Iemand met n sukses track record

Wel wat kan ek nou se:
1. Ek het 'n kundige by my dam gehad.
2. Die krag is 'n ander saak.
3.Toe ek die 60000 LIT dam gebou het was dit in my gedagtes om kwaliteit koi aan te hou want dam bou is nie kleingeld nie
4.Om my droom te verwenslik moet ek my filter sisteem op gradeer.

Dankie oom Pieter. Laat ons die bal aan die rol kry sodat ek stelselmatig my sisteem verander sonder om teveel versteuring aan my bio sisteem te verander.

1. Met die 4 x 5 sak sandfilters dink ek dat ons met die 1,1 kw pomp per filter gaan,wat dink jy oom Pieter?
2. Na die sandfilters het ek gedink om 4 x 3 sak sandfilters met Alfagrog te vul en weg te doen met die Ultra zap bio filters omdat ek 'n hoogte probleem het. Die filters wil ek opkoppel op 'n manier waar ek nie die multivalve wil gebruik nie. Kan dit so werk en sal die sandfilters met Alfagrog dieselfde eind doel bereik as die Ultrzap bio filters?

Ja, blykbaar vang die mense nie jou oorspronklike grappie nie!

Ek wil net graag ook noem dat ek myself nie as 'n kundige van Koi beskou nie, ek dink nie daar bestaan so iemand in die wereld nie, tot die Japanese erken dit en getuig dat hulle elke dag na al die jare nog van Koi leer.

Ek deel my ondervinding graag met ander, maar ek sal ook nie huiwer om iemand op sy foute te wys nie, daarvoor het ek self te veel foute gemaak.
Daarom gee ek raad op die goed waarvan ek ondervinding het.
(Ek kon tog nie 'n "bottom drain" in 'n Koi dam bespreek as ek nog nooit een in my eie dam gehad het nie?)

Ek glo ook dat jou laaste "posting" nie hier geplaas moet word nie maar onder " filtration"
Miskien kan jy dit weer daar plaas.
