F1 Engines Empty
PostSubject: F1 Engines   F1 Engines EmptySun Oct 17, 2010 7:59 am

Here is some really useful info -

Some info on a Formula 1 engine

BMW’s Dr. Mario Theissen says of a Formula 1 engine –

The BMW’s output for 2002 is “about” 950bhp (708 kW) at 19,500 rpm.

At 18,000 rpm you get 300 total engine revolutions, 1,500 ignitions, and 9,000 speed measurements

The pistons cover a collective distance of 250 meters, 450 liters of air are aspirated and 150,000 engine and vehicle data measurements are recorded and processed ….

…….. PER SECOND.

Maybe that's why they change the engine after every race!!
