Just put up four new ponds about 12000 litres combined. I have about a 9 PH - any ideas on bringing this down. There are no fish in at the moment. The pond was sealed with Coprox

Hi Quinton,

There are a few ways to bring PH down, pool acid or vinegar. I would NOT recommend any of the two as the condition you have is normal for a new pond, and it has to be monitored and corrected with water changes and time. Please don't try and change PH up or down with chemicals, it can backfire on you easily.

Just do small water changes every day.

The Coprox itself will cause it the ph to rise. Do a few waterchanges and wait a little longer before adding any fish, after a while the effects of the coprox on ph will subside. I used a product called uniproof from universal paints over my coprox and it seals in the coprox eliminating the effect on the ph (something to consider in the future)
