Servaas had a tumour on the acoustic nerve in his one ear removed as it had grown quite large.

He is out of hospital and says he is doing well although he is off balance a lot of the time. Also the nerves to the one side of his face have been affected – not permanently we hope – so he has lost some control of one side of his face.
