Oxygen Empty
PostSubject: Oxygen   Oxygen EmptyWed Aug 18, 2010 12:22 pm

Hi

I want to find out if it's acceptable to use normal oxygen when baggin koi instead of Medical Oxygen? I've allways use medical oxygen but the supplier is constantly out of stock & then there's a 2 week wait if they order.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Medical Oxygen is 99% pure and Normal Oxygen is around 92% pure....

Hi Chris

You are more or less correct and using normal oxygen for bagging fish will be fine.

Your problem is that to get a cylinder for your normal oxygen you have to sign up with a gas supply co and they will then charge you rental for that cylinder every month.

I am not too sure about the miniature welding sets, the small cylinder, heard that they are very costly. I believe a couple of thousand.

Stick to your medical cylinder
