I'm new to the forum, but have browsed a bit before registering. I actually got the lead for this product from here, and then recently bought some bioballz from the guys at www.bioballz.co.za . Turns out I had the incorrect measurements when working out the volume of the sand filter I was going to put them in, and have a bag and a half of them left.

I paid R3,000 for 3 bags and the shipping from Cape Town to me in Kempton Park. The bag and a half I have left over will be sufficient to fill a 3 bag sand filter. You can have them (brand new and unused) for R1,000 cash (so about a R500 saving), provided you collect from me or we arrange to meet somewhere convenient.

I've had them in for a week now, and the water flow through the filter is much better. The large grain sand they suggest for use in pool filters being used for koi ponds always needed me to open up the filter every week or so to unclog the sand and do a backwash. The bioballz are much better suited for use in the filter.

If you are using your sand filter as a sediment filter the bio ball are not going to do the job and your water is going to turn murky shortly.
It is very easy to clean a dirty sand filter, takes about one and half minute.

R750 is the lowest I can go, all other terms remain the same. PM me if interested. Unfortunately I can't drop the price further so if I don't get anything by the end of the month, I'll start approaching pet shops nearby to see if someone wants to take them into stock at that price.
