Hi almal
Ek het hierdie desperate oproep om hulp ontvand en wil net hoor wat dink julle kan hier fout wees, en wat moet gedoen word.

Ek het gevra vir foto's en sal pos sodra dit kom.

Help asseblief

Ons het ‘n visdam by ons werk met ± 10 koi visse, die grootte wissel van ± 60 – 80cm. Dit is ‘n gemesselde dam en die water vloei
konstant deur filters soos ‘n waterfal in die dam.

Ons het egter ‘n probleem dat sommige van die visse sulke groeisels op hulle koppe kry, dit lyk soos groot rooi vratte. Daar word elke 2de week ‘n sak sout in die dam gegooi, so het iemand ons voorman vertel, moet mens doen en verder kry hulle maar net kos, maar die vratte pla my, hulle lyk sleg. Daar is so in die loop van ‘n jaar 2 dood wat albei die vratte op hul kop gehad het. Kan iemand my dalk sê wat die oorsaak is en of mens dit kan behandel. Ek is net bang later het almal dit en moet mens van die goed ontslae raak.

Hi Neville.

Ek het gehoor as jou dam te vlak is kry jy teveel temperatuur veranderings wat daai tippe vratte veroorsaak. Wat ek gehoor het is om baie lemoen te voer vir die koi wat dalk kan help.

Lanklaas van jou gehoor gaan dit goed, Jy moet jou vis kom haal jong.

Baie dankie dit klink nogal na iets. dit is n kantoor dam ne so dis moontlik. sal meer inligting vandag kry.

Ek stem saam hier.... Sout moet stop. Koi is varswater visse. Sout moet gebruik word vir medisyne indien nodig. Dis moeilik om te se wat presies die probleem is as mens nie foto's het nie.

As these people are in Capetown (found out today) I have forwarded their details to Paul.
I am sure he will sort them out and maybe tell us what the outcome is.
