During a recent visit by Colin Hunt we agreed to approach you and ask if it would be possible for you to consider the unbanning of Pieter de Villiers.

I have also met with others and it is felt that the positive inputs by Pieter is really missed on this forum

I know that Pieter is sometimes a bit harsh and straight forward, but the intent is always pure. Pieter has a deep passion for the hobby and I know he is very frustrated to have been sidelined and being unable to reply to postings.

I, on be-halve of myself, Colin, and I am sure, a few others ask from you to please consider to unban Pieter de Villiers.

What a great experience to be at the show and meet the faces behind the postings.

You all had a advantage on me because of the the cargo straps! never the less thank you very much for all the "You must be Neville Boardman" greetings.

It just makes it nicer to know the face.

Yes, bring my friend back.

We all miss Pieter's input on matters....

I don't know even know what Pieter said that lead to him being banned.

Just look at Malema.....nothing happens to him.

I have not been on the forum for very long...coming up to a year, but in that year I have had advise from many including Pieter which I found invaluable. Yes, maybe the way some of the questions were answered were worded in a way that it may offend those who are sensitive, but at the end of the day there was good advise given.

I did not intend coming on here to make friends, my priority was my fish, if I make friends at the end of the day, then thats a bonus.....and in my saying this, I feel the knowledge that Pieter has is all I need and I feel this is somewhat of a loss for what I intend to get out of this site.

I have also noticed that some of the other koi guru's here like the Jaco's and Collin's etc have been quieter than they wer eusually and this is koi knowledge we cannot do with out.

Some people dont like an incredibly direct approach, like the approach Pieter has, just a matter of understanding who those people are and perhaps changing your approach when that time permits........at the end of the day I need from here what benefits me and my koi......and Pieter assists in that greatly, so it would be nice to have that knowledge readily available!

As a new hobbyist, much invaluable info regarding optimising the application of the sandfilter from Pieter, and in this respect I found his advice the most helpful. The frankness of his responses were not personlised, and I applied the positive advice, and I -and my koi- are reaping the benefits.
In the newly launched poll on sandfilters, in excess of 50% of the respondents have a sandfilter in their filtration setup. While there are many more modern filtration technologies, many still have the sandfilter.
I had the opportunity to meet the guru at the Show over the past weekend, and he shared some new ideas about sandfilter cleaning, which would be invaluable to forum members / koi keepers.
I am not in a position to question your motives, and ultimate reason for the banning, but believe that we have lost an invaluable contributor in the process.

I had a nice discussion with Neville about this yesterday, and i also agree that it will be a good thing to lift the ban.

In the interests of the hobby and koi keeping in South Africa it is really beneficial that we move forward from here.

Things were said, but that is water under the bridge. What was said is in the past, I harbour no ill feelings or Grudges and am more than happy and willing to move forward into the future unconditionaly.

Hi guys, just came back from JHB now and must say, it was wonderfull to put all the faces to the names. Will post some photos as soon as everything is back to normal around here. Started to bag the last few fish that did not sell 6 o'clock this morning and it took me 13 hours to get them back in Cape Town waters after a few flight delays.

I feel that Pieter's wealth of knowledge was a great asset to the forum and his contributions added positive value and I would also like to have him back.

Actually wanted to ask Pieter over the weekend to join us again, but time did not permit. (He was too busy to stir again, especially at the auction)

Pieter is unbanned.

I have just arrived back a few hours ago, a long drive and a stack of fines on the way.

Thank you Paul and all others that had an input. I think, no, I know Pieter the "YOUNGSTER" adds more value to us all as part of the forum and I certainly missed his postings. I had the pleasure to meet the
"YOUNGSTER" and took a liking to him immediately, his Koi and his setup tells the story about the man. He is a no bull shit person... like me, accept me the way I am or take a hike. I truely enjoyed his and his lovely wifes company and WELCOME back to you Pieter. I call him the YOUNGSTER because I imagined him as the old skiny oom Pieter with long grey hair that was as mad as a hatter, only to see the big not so old guy.

We met Jaco, The GENTLE GIANT from Odendaalsrus that has the most amazing GENTLE GIANT KOI which were amazing. We enjoyed ourselves so much I forgot to take fotos.

I would like to make use of the oppertunity to to express my feelings about a very special person I met on our trip. I pm'd Neville Boardman prior to my trip, indicating that I would like to see his pond and if he could tell where to see some nice Koi and dealer setups. Well to my and Alta, my wifes amazment Neville is the most amazing person one could cross paths with, he dedicated all his time from Sunday evening, Monday, Monday evening, Tuesday, Tuesday evening, Wednesday, Wednesday evening and most of the time at the show. Once again Neville Thank you, we did not for one moment expected that kind of treatment and throughly enjoyed every minute of it. To all the young ladies out there Neville has the most amazing young Neville jnr. that will make any young lady happy so I am told from Alta. he is a well brought up young man that stands by his father and is more of a friend than a son. He entertained us in the evenings by baking the nicest bread, looking after the fire, Braaing, setting the table and is any Fathers dream son. Well done Neville, you did a fantastic job.

We met fantastic dealers with impresive set ups with stunning Koi and they were all amazing, from Lionel at Koi Depot to Costa to Looli locks to Mario at The Koi Farm where we received the most amazing welcome from him and his wife Wendy. The warm friendship from this man touches you immediately and truely make one feel special.

This was an amazing trip that I would not have missed, Thank you guys.

one thing I dont think I will ever do again is take my wife with me to any of these shows.

I wanted to catch up and meet some of the people there that I speak to on these forums but the wife made me feel kak by looking like she had nothing interesting to do. I was at Paul's stand, but Paul was busy with someone so could not interupt and next I had the wife saying we needed to move on now as the kids were getting restless.

It was also very nice to meet you, and see our communal friend, Imran and his dad again. Did not know you were friends.

I was extremely impressed with your koi and congratulations with the Junior Grand Champion award and all the other awards.

Could you possibly post a photo of that Junior Champ, also used by you as your avatar?. It is an awesome kohaku.

Hi Deon, the 30 day banning period has expired and Pieter has been unbanned. Hopefully we can all contribute positively to the hobby of koi keeping with all personal issues of 2010 left behind.

There is no financial gain for me to run a forum. I am doing it purely to stimulate the hobby and to provide a source of information, free of charge.

Pieter has contributed positively to this forum with his wealth of knowledge on koi, and the more opinions we get, the better the source of information.

Christo and Bobby's 30 days banning period also expired.

Should there be any posts that attack any member personally, please inform me immediately, as I am not on the forum 24/7.
