| For every 9 litres of water you may ad 1cm of koi.
1m = koi 900L or 50cm koi = 450L this would be maximum stoking.
25cm koi in 28000L of water = 28 koi
You must remember that koi grow every day so if you put 1000 6cm koi in, it will be no problem but if they start to grow then it become a big problem.
The general rule is 1 koi per 1000L |

| CronjeL, Collin has given you the genral rule - its good advice.
People with very good quality koi sometimes push that 1000l per fish rule up to 4500L per koi but i have also seen people with 12 kois in a 2500L pond and the kois are all 40cm each.
The 1000l per koi is a good rule cause it gives you enough "safety net" to play in...for example what if you have 13 koi in 2500L water and the power goes down? Oops.... |
