Good day

I want to find out about air compressors or air pumps that i can use to transport koi in a transport vat.
I would like to transport my koi to the show in a tank rather than bagging them.
Any idea how to go about choosing a pump for this purpose?
Are the tyre compressors good enough and do they give enough air pressure?
Any help will be welcomed,where do buy etc

Hi Anver.

1. Get a inverter.
2. Get the converter so that it can plug into your ligter socket.
3. Then you can run a normal 240volt submersiable pump or air compressor.

I have seen people using the Boyu 001s and Tetra S-400 (2 watt) air pumps with airstones

You can buy proper 150W inverters from outdoor warehouse. Around R450 and you can plug them into lighter socket. The larger units run from battery since they draw more current.

What sort of containers are available for transporting Koi since it sounds like a good idea

Marius, they use transport vats.

Its a 1m3 vat made of the same material as koi show vats. It has a steel frame that holds it all together.

Orient koi sells some and the guys down in knysna george area makes them aswell.
